The Cruel Deception
By Dr Robert Sharpe.
Robert Sharp has staked his considerable reputation on the fact that animal experiments have an abysmal record in predicting useful treatments of health for the human species.
This book, The Cruel Deception, is a glowing testament that what he has maintained for years – that epidemiology holds the key to major advancements in health is in fact nothing less than the truth.
Dr Sharpe beggers the question: Why do pro-vivisectionists insist on animal experiments when human-based research is so obviously the way to go?
The books admirable scientific precision quotes examples which show that in vitro research, together with clinical and epidemiological studies are crucial to a proper understanding of "the big three" – heart disease, cancer and strokes in humans.
This book is for those of us who have ever wondered exactly what vivisection involves, whether there are alternatives, and how have they {the vivisectors} gotten away with it for so long?
Unfortunately practices such as mice dying from x-ray burns, beagles burnt and crying, dogs' tracheas ignited by laser, guinea pigs dosed with soot, baboons poisoned with nerve gas, baby lambs subjected to induced "stress" is still with us today.
Vivisection is more than 100 years old and the escalating horrors that go with it get more extreme with every passing year as we recently saw as Beagles penises where peeled back to "test" the drug Viagra, as one example.
A slight glimmer of hope exists with those like Sharpe, Don Barnes and Dr Vernon Coleman, to name a few, who have come over from the scientific community to declare unanimously that there is an alternative to animal research. Now that's called "good science".
The very least we can do then is read upon the facts – scientific and dry though it may well be – for the fight ahead of us will be cyclonic in countering the medical and scientific communities stance on the subject.
