HOW DO WE KILL FERAL ANIMALS?
Pigs The majority of wild pigs are killed with poisons such a Strychnine, Organophosphate Insecticides, 1080 and Phosphorus. Phosphorus is caustic. It is mixed with other substances and sold as CSSP. Phosphorus destroys the alimentary tract and liver of the still conscious animal. Phosphorus initially causes violent gastroenteritis, with severe diarrhoea, vomiting, acute abdominal pain, salivation and intense thirst. Some animals may die of acute shock at this stage. Others linger on for up to ten days, suffering all the above symptoms, including convulsions. Despite its horrendous effects, CSSP continues legally to be widely used. It is cheap and easy to get. Thousands of animals die in its agonising throes every year. |
