Barrie Tapp and Peter with Ruby the donkey - safe from fires and eating donated food

During the terrible Victorian bushfires Animal Liberation employee Barrie Tapp worked with police, Casey Council, Rotary and the Lions Club to get donations of food from NSW, SA and QLD trucked down to a warehouse provided by Narre Warren Rotary. He and volunteers have worked around the clock getting food and animal care products out to stricken animals.

1800 Cruelty Hotline helping animals in need

In addition to providing education to the public about helping animals and the environment through individual choices, much of our expenses and time are spent on the free call 1800 Cruelty Hotline which began in NSW three years ago, in Victoria two years ago and in Tasmania a year ago.

Without this service hundreds of cases of neglect and cruelty would go unreported as people in rural and country areas are often reluctant to leave contact details without which the RSPCA in NSW and Victoria will not take calls.  RSPCA Tasmania does not have this policy, they will investigate all calls and are happy to work with this organisation to ensure that maximum cruelty issues are investigated.
