Cruelty Free Shopping
A product is considered "cruelty free" if it is not tested on animals. That is, no animal tests were carried out for the development and launch of that product on to the market. "Cruelty Free" also means that the product does not contain any animal products or by-products.
The sad reality is that many products that we buy are tested on animals, particularly when you consider that in 2004 alone, 6.4 million animals were tested on in laboratories all around Australia. Yes that's right, 6.4 million animals.
It's not always easy to identify products that are '"cruelty free" because there is currently no legal requirement for companies to state that their products are or are not tested on animals.
That's where the following link will come in handy!

Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) is an independant, non-profit organisation which actively promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle.
You will find their website extremely useful in helping you identify which products are safe to buy.
If you would like to read up on animal testing (or "Vivisection"), then please go to the Vivisection link on our Subjects page.
