Action Alert
Would you like to get active in Animal Liberation?
It's an exciting time for Animal Liberation, with a groundswell of public attention to animal rights issues in the media and at the water cooler. There are a wide range of opportunities to become more involved in Animal Liberation:
Attend a monthly public meeting. Regular public meetings are held in Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast and the Blue Mountains. They're a great way to learn about what Animal Liberation has been
doing and ways to get involved. The meetings are also a great way to meet other likeminded people, and the Sydney meetings are always followed by dinner at a nearby vegetarian restaurant.
You can find the dates of upcoming meetings in our Calendar of Events.
Join our email list to stay in touch with what's happening. Animal Liberation's email newsletter, LIBERATE, includes information on upcoming meetings, actions and other events, and keeps you up to date with animal-related news from around the globe. Click here to sign up.
Join an action group. Animal Liberation has a range of action groups to cater for specific issues and activities. We currently have pig, fur, vivisection, education and writer's action groups, and new groups are starting all the time. Check out our Action Groups in the Campaigns section of this site.
Start your own local Animal Liberation group. Would you like to start up an Animal Liberation group in your local area or at your university or school? We'd love to help out - get in touch with us on sydneyhq@animal-lib.org.au or call us on (02) 9262 3221 for details.
Attend a guest speaker or film night. Animal Liberation periodically hosts prominent guest speakers from the animal rights movement; these are generally in an informal setting and you have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Animal rights-themed film nights are also held every couple of months in our Sydney office. Check our Calendar of Events or sign up to our email list for details of upcoming events.
Come to a new volunteers dinner. Feel a little intimidated showing up to a protest by yourself for the first time? You're not the only one! Come and meet other new volunteers in a relaxed setting over a delicious vegan meal. New volunteers dinners are held roughly every three months. Stay tuned to our Calendar of Events or sign up to our email list for details of an upcoming dinner.
